Nonlinear-Photonic (NP) devices has been extending applications to various fields not only in efficient wavelength conversion but also ultrafast optical processing and quantum optics. Polarity-patterning (PP) in nonlinear optical materials is widely spread in fabrication of the NP devices, which allow modulation of the nonlinear-optical coefficients. Recent achievements in advanced fabrication technologies will be reviewed by nano-scale ferroelectric domain patterning and non-ferroelectric twin control. Highly accurate PP structures with 700 nm periods allowed us to compensate large phase mismatch resulting in backward interaction of the lights. A technological combination between a NP structure and a tight ridge waveguide demonstrated a record-high efficiency of 4600%/W, which facilitates ultrafast data processing in the data stream at 640 Gbit/s. Those fabrication tools open a new horizon to phase/coherence-controlled NP devices.
